A little about myself...
Hello, Teri here! The common thread throughout my life has been the joy of dance and I'm so grateful to be able to share that with the world.
I've held conscious dance groups as well as offering creative movement groups for people at a variety of community outlets. All of these learnings have supported me to strengthen my belief in the power of dance for health and well being in all areas of our life. The skills and expression we discover, explore and practice in classes are all transferable to our life off the dance floor and this is my mission.
Through the enjoyment of dance and movement, I offer resources that can benefit others lives.
I've been employed by OCConnections to support people with intellectual disabilities for over 15 years now. I currently run a variety of Dance Movement Therapy groups there each week. From slow and gentle to active and lively groups - being inclusive of each participant no matter what their level of needs and abilities are..
Some organizations I have worked for : OCConnections
St John of God's Disability Support Services
St. Kilda Baptist Church
The City of Port Phillip
Renaissance Arts Festival
Womens Health and Wellness Retreats
I've also been honoured to provide placement and mentorship for Dance Movement Therapy students and teachers of mainstream dance schools to learn how to include people with disabilities into their classes.
I trained and performed ballet for over 15 years, tasted a variety of dance styles before discovering a passion for creative dance and improvisation. I also found 5Rhythms and various conscious dance forms for my own practice. Inspired to teach, I embarked on a journey of learning that continues to this day.
I've found through the challenges of Covid 19 how to offer online movement classes for women and people with disabilities. I will continue to create and offer dance, movement and self development courses online.
I've completed Insight Coaching Method Training and now offer Embodied Insight Sessions online and in person
